Greyley visits Van

Our great friends Grey and Haley (Greyley) came to visit Van this weekend from Wilmington. Van and Haley became fast friends. He was very enamored with her. She definitely had the magic touch with him and was the recipient of many of his sweet baby smiles.

A couple of BIG things happened this weekend while Grey and Haley were here.......

To start, Greyley got here Friday night. Which had been exactly one week since the start of our bedtime routine and both Derek and I were shocked when Van slept soundly from 8 - 12. For the past week he would fall asleep after his bath but he would only sleep for 45 minutes to an hour then wake up again and need a little help getting back to sleep. Now I know this isn't technically "sleeping through the night" but I think it's a step closer!

At midnight Haley held Van until he went back to sleep. He fell asleep sprawled in her arms.

Those of you with a newborn can definitely appreciate what happened next. Saturday was the fourth day in a row Van hadn't pooped. I called the pediatrician and the nurse gave us a couple of things to do to help him. She told us babies are allowed an ounce of fruit juice for every month they are old. So, we gave him two ounces of apple juice and voila!! We were so relieved and Van was so happy!

Hales got Van the Moby Wrap and here we are modeling it. Doesn't Van look thrilled? He really liked it and I know we will get a lot of use out it!

For lunch we met up with Jeff, Kate and Avery at East Blvd Bar & Grill. Was anyone else unaware that it's really Frank's East Blvd Bar & Grill??

Avery enjoyed her first lemon slice at lunch. It was so cute and funny the way she kept reaching for it then sticking out her tongue! Little lizard baby!

Nana and The Colonel came over Saturday night to babysit while we went out to dinner. We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Dandelion Market then had a couple night caps at Connolly's. We had to get an updated shot of our "How I Met Your Mother" picture from 2007!
