25 weeks

Wow I can't believe that August is almost over......where did the summer go??? I feel like time is just flying by and as much as I want to meet little Peanut, I am not wanting to stop being pregnant just yet. I'm sure I'll be more ready when I get into the latter 30 weeks!

Derek and I had our 25 week check-up on Wednesday and they scheduled an ultrasound to check on Peanut's growth & my fluid level since I was measuring so far ahead at the last appointment. The ultrasound went really well. My fluid level is normal and Peanut is in the 60th percentile as far as growth which is normal too.

He was very calm during the ultrasound with a heart rate of 143. He also gave us a little smile! He must have been happy to have found his foot!! Below you can see him hanging on to it. Too cute.

They measured his thigh bone and it was measuring in at 26 weeks. He's going to be a long baby! After the ultrasound we met with our mid-wife Lindsay and she measured my baby bump for the second time and again I was measuring at 28 weeks. So I may catch up to that measurement or Peanut may come a bit early. The ultrasound gave us a due date of December 5th which is within the week of our original due date so Derek & I will definitely be staying close to home Thanksgiving - on!

Traveling Peanut......I've seriously done more traveling since I've been pregnant than in the last 2 years! Last weekend we went on Candace's Bachelorette Bash in Savannah, GA. It was so much fun and a perfect girls weekend. Savannah is one of the coolest cities, with great food and the friendliest people. Candace really enjoyed herself and it was nice to get to know all the other girls. The wedding is only 3 weeks away & it's going to be so beautiful!

Here we are at dinner at the Olde Pink House.

I had to post this picture because it is too cute! This is Candace & Christine (her soon-to-be sister-in-law!)

Our next visit with the mid-wife is September 14th. After that appointment I will start going every 2 weeks! There are a couple of baby showers in the works for October that my friends and co-workers are putting together for me. I am blessed to be surrounded by such amazing friends and loved ones!

I'm still doing pretty well by going to the gym 4-5 days a week and I just started taking a prenatal yoga class with my friend Brooke who is 16 weeks preggo. The class was a lot harder than I anticipated but it was a lot of fun. We are going to try to make it every week. Since my last appointment I've gained 3 more pounds. I haven't had a problem with swelling or water retention which I am so thankful for.

Work is starting to get a little draining but I am trying my best to stay off my feet as much as possible. Facials seem to be the most energy draining and I'll try to continue doing them until it gets to be too much.

Peanut Loves:
Classic Rock
Daddy playing his guitar
Baxter & Hurley speaking to him
salt water taffy
naptime

Peanut Not Loving:
Cardio (It's boring)
Being hungry (translation: not eating every 2 hours)
The loud neighbor who wakes him up at 3am

The Nursery is set up

So this last weekend we finished the last couple of details in the nursery. We got the crib all set up and the bedding on the crib! Derek hung up the picture frames I've been collecting for the past couple of years. They are made from pieces of old boats and I'm still in the process of picking pictures to put inside them. I'd like to put pictures of Peanut in a couple after he is born.

All that is left to put up is a shelving system from Ikea that will serve as his dresser/bookcase/toy shelf and a glider we picked out at Pottery Barn Kids. Peanut is already accumulating clothes and Nana Luke bought him the most awesome outfit! She said it reminded her of Derek so she just had to buy it! He'll probably be wearing his little toboggan home!

Here are pictures of the finished nursery:

21 weeks check up

I am right at a little over the midway mark in our pregnancy at 22 weeks!! So far everything has been wonderful! I feel great and I'm really enjoying being pregnant. I do miss the use of my abs though.....it makes getting out of the bed and out of a sitting position a little tricky when I just can't get those muscles to cooperate! I rolled out of bed for the first time last week and Derek really got a kick out of it. Pretty soon he'll have to push me out!!!

My 21 week check-up with our midwife went well. Baby's heartbeat was in the 150's. It is always such a relief to hear that little horse galloping! This was the first appointment where they have measured my bump. At 21 weeks and 4 days I was measuring in at 28 weeks. Hallie said that could mean a couple of things, fibroid cysts which I don't think is the case because those would have been seen on my last ultrasound 4 weeks prior, Peanut was lying sideways and really stretching himself out, or there is a lot of amniotic fluid. Hallie didn't seem concerned but she scheduled another ultrasound for our next appointment on August 26th just to double check and make sure all is looking well.

Baby Utsey is a pretty chill baby. I feel him most often at night when I am lying down. Hallie said we'll really start feeling him move in the next couple of weeks!

Baxter & Hurley are very curious as to what is going on in the guest bedroom and they are both sticking a little closer to me than they used to. They are usually both right under my feet and last night Hurley even jumped into bed to cuddle with me.....on my pillow! They're being so sweet and protective. I can't wait until they meet their little brother!

I've decided to not fly out to NY to talk to the agency Expecting Mothers. There is no guarantee I will work and I just don't want to be away from Derek and our families for 6 weeks.

I am still working out 4-5 times a week and once a week with a trainer. I am still shocked at how out of shape I feel but I feel so much better after getting in some time at the gym. Of course I'm working out a bit differently now but it's good to stay active. So far at this point I've gained a total of 12 pounds and I am wondering how much is all that excess fluid!?!

The nursery is still coming along. I will post more pictures once we get the crib up and get things a bit more organized. Several of you have asked where we are registered and you can find us at Babies-R-Us and Pottery Barn Kids. It was a bit overwhelming registering for all this baby stuff but thank goodness my close friend Angie went with me and helped me pick out the things I'll really need and use!

Baby Utsey loves:
yogurt with fruit & granola
Ben & Jerry's Phish Food
Steam pot from Eb & Flow's
Shrimp, Scallops & Mussels
Veggies
Iced coffee with white chocolate syrup

Baby Utsey dislikes:
standing for too long
cardio
