van had his first day of camp last monday. it was the first time i have ever dropped him off for hours with someone besides family or close friends. let's just say i think it was harder for me than for him.
here he is all smiles as i tell him he's about to visit mimi. (mimi teaches the fours at van's school and we visit her often throughout the school year).
and here he is just a little apprehensive at the words, "you're going to have SO much fun at camp today!" (tears and a little quiver to my voice)
and that is it for my picture taking. i wanted a shot of him going into his classroom but i was trying too hard to hold myself together as he lost it. i at least waited until i got back into the car before i burst into tears.
i cried the whole way to the gym. until my friend martha called and talked me into a better state. this whole letting go thing is harder than i ever imagined it to be. how did my parents let me do some of the things i did????? (like move to italy, alone, when i was 16).........that is a whole other story for another time.
i don't want van getting any ideas.
It's so hard isn't it? Aidan started camp today and I balled! And he's been in "school" for two years already. Seriously will it ever get easier?
